System requirements
In order to use Apollo, you will need the following:
- A desktop or portable computer (you will be able to use Apollo from a smartphone, Android or iPhone in the near future, although at the moment smartphones cannot be used to sign up);
- Broadband internet access (recommended, although dial up may still be useable);
- A supported browser (continue reading).
Most modern web browsers will work with Apollo. We do our best to make sure that Apollo is completely multi-platform, and fully functional with the most common web browsers.
In addition to using a supported browser, you may also need to check the browser's settings:
- Cookies must be enabled. Cookies are used to verify your login and store the application's state;
- JavaScript must be enabled. Apollo is mostly written in Javascript.
Fully Supported Browsers:
- Google Chrome 5 or higher – Highly recommended in place of Internet Explorer on Windows PCs;
- Safari 4 or higher – Available with every Apple Macintosh computer;
- FireFox 3.5 or higher – Available for almost all operating systems;
- Internet Explorer 7 or higher. Note: Internet Explorer 8 performs much better than version 7, and is recommended whenever possible.
Unsupported but partially or mostly working browsers:
- Opera 10 or newer: Opera is reported to work, but is an unsupported browser; this means that we don't actively test Apollo on this particular browser;
- Firefox 3: just like Opera 10 and newer, Firefox 3 is reported to work, but is an unsupported browser.
Browser that are known not to work with Apollo:
- FireFox 2 or older;
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or older.
